It’s only been around for a few years, but in that short period of time, the Buggy Bonanza has earned a reputation for being the biggest, boldest golf cart rally this side of the Mississippi. Whether you come to compete or just to watch the shenanigans, you’re guaranteed to see some of the most innovative, adventurous customized carts in the country.
So what can you expect from the Bonanza this year? On Friday, July 25, competitors can bring their carts to the London Dragway for open racing and last-minute test runs. Then, on Saturday, July 26, the real competition begins. Here’s a quick run-through of the featured events:

A fan favorite, the mud pit has gotten the best of even the toughest golf carts. Think your golf cart has enough traction and tread to take you to the finish the fastest? Please see important information below
|

Are you ready to be King of the Hill? Test your cart’s torque by racing up a monster of a grade. The best time wins – for those who make it to the top!
|

Push the pedal to the floor! To win this event, your golf cart needs excellent speed and suspension while racing through rough, hilly terrain. Timid drivers need not apply.
|

Think your cart can smoke the rest of its competitors in a speed test? With the drag race, you’ll need to make 1/8 of a mile in 20 seconds or less just to qualify. Enter the Christmas Tree or 1/8 mile side-by-side competition. *Helmets required for this event.
|

Have you customized your cart to the hilt? Maybe you’ve decked it with diamond plate, added a bang-up paint job, or boosted it with a lift kit and automotive tires. Whatever your personal style, here’s your chance to show it off. We'll be handing out awards based on the innovation and flair in the golf cart's appearance. |

Awards for each of the above events will be given out for the following classes:
- Gas – Modified: Any standard engine with any level of modification. Any gearing or clutch mods.
- Gas – Unlimited: Any non-standard engine with any gearing or drive system modification.
- Electric – Modified: Any motor or controller system using 48 volts or less.
- Electric – Unlimited: Any motor or controller system using more than 48 volts.

Please be aware that muddy golf carts will not be allowed on the drag strip. If you are planning to compete in the Mud Pit and then the Drag Race, you will need to wash your cart completely clean before competing. The London Dragway will have a wash area available for this purpose.
|
Please note that helmets are required for the Drag Race event, and we highly recommend helmets for all other competitive events.
Please also note that all participants will be required to sign a waiver of liability before competing in any event.
