If there was a more critical part to the electrical system than the Club Car DS 36-Volt 4-Terminal Silver Solenoid, we are not sure what it would be. Sure, there is quite a bit that goes into getting the signal to the relay. You have microswitches in the floorboard and, in some cases, on the forward and reverse. There is a crucial switch inline ad, usually a fuse or two. Without those, the solenoid cannot do anything. However, that is all low amperage. The solenoid is responsible for getting every bit of juice from the batteries to the controller and beyond. It's a lot of stress to handle. The golf cart solenoid is rated at 36 volts. It comes with silver contacts for higher heat resistance and conductivity. They will work great for the older DS models but not for newer DS models or the Precedent as those are 48-volt coaches.
