The E-Z-GO 2-Cycle Drive Clutch is a marvel of engineering. Whoever figured out this part for the first time was a real smart cookie. This primary uses centrifugal force to suck the two sheaves of the pulley toward one another as the caddie gets faster and faster. As it does, the belt gets pulled further into the secondary located on the rear axle. The further it moves down, the faster you go. There is a spring internally in this one that keeps the clutch closed as long as possible. This allows torque to build for hill climbing and pulling heavy loads. If that spring wears out, you will not have any problems on flat ground, but elevation changes will be quite the challenge.
This golf cart clutch system is going to be easy for you to install. Make sure you get all the tools you need. Namely, the clutch pulled bolt. This E-Z-GO clutch is pressed onto the crankshaft when you tighten it on. Getting it off requires a specially threaded bolt. Call Buggies Unlimited and get it all today.
Yes and it will tighten on to the shaft fix’s like a glove
This will not work on the 1998
No I don't think so!
Iam not sure only if the predator is a tapered shaft ,but if memory serves me right i dont think it is.
The removal tool for this comet replacement clutch is item# 9044
But the removal tool for the OEM clutch should be item# 5544
I think it only fits a tapered shaft, but I don't have the dimensions. If you have a 2pg 2 cycle engine it should fit (fit my 88 marathon perfectly). But if you're looking for a different application, I'm not sure of the dimensions. Next time I take my cart apart, I'll measure it and post it here.
