The suspension systems on golf carts greatly vary from one manufacturer to the next. The Yamaha's are more like your cars or small SUVs. They use a coiled over the shock that provides a tremendous amount of outward pressure. The EZGO Rear Shock for 1979-01.5 Marathon and Medalist is not that in the slightest. This is a dampening shock that provides a small amount of resistance inward and outward. When we say slight, we mean it. You could easily collapse one of these with your hands, and it would stay collapsed until you pulled it back apart.These golf cart rear shocks are designed to soften the travel of the ride on your EZGO. The leaf springs provide support, and the wonders make ride everything nice and smooth. We have heard many customers tell us they are taking them off.
