The differential on your cart is full of oil. This is to keep the gears from overheating. A good bit of buggy trivia is the weight of oil that gets used in these things. On a gas golf cart, the oil is usually an 80 or 90 weight gear oil. However, on the electric models, all that gets used is a 30 weight motor oil.
