These axles are rigid. Make sure it's not the hub drum giving you issues before you make a decision. This Driver side, E-Z-GO Medalist TXT Electric Rear Axle, is male splined and is made of hardened steel. The brake drum that slides over it is aluminum, designed to fail to protect this axle. Unless the splines get stripped off, or it's broken in half, you're probably ok. Don't be afraid to call one of the techs at Buggies Unlimited. They will be happy to verify this for you.
However, if you like to get crazy on the trail with your golf cart as we do, this might not be your first time on this page. Just because these TXT Electric Rear Axles are durable does not mean they are invincible. If you launch that stock buggy four feet in the air over a ditch, expect to swipe your credit card when it lands. The sales line is the one to call in this case.
With no issue!
I didn’t need the axle after all. Realized that just the hub needed replacing. Splines in hub were stripped. Axle splines rarely strip. I think the metal is harder on the axle than the hub
This may not fit.
Hi Grant,
This axle would need castle nut, 1689.
I've slept too many times since purchasing the axle. What you see is what you get. I do not remember a bearing.
This has happened to me as well, and I believe it may be that if you use a non OEM brake drum the metal is softer. We had cases where we used non OEM brake drums and with a lot of weight on the back and it strips the splines out of the brake drum.
Yes I bought a few for different years of ez go and they all fit.
