Street legalizing a golf cart can be a hassle. The people down at the DMV seem like they take pride in making it difficult for you to get your cart out from under the nose of the local traffic constable. One of the most significant sticking points is aftermarket tires. Depending on your local area's laws, you may have to have a set of DOT tires on your cart, like the Excel Classic DOT Street Tires, for example. Annoying, we know, it is enough to send shivers down anyone's spine. We're sure you understand why; there is usually a partner that comes along with anything that has to be approved by the DMV. A higher price.

Buggies Unlimited offers an Excel Classic DOT Street Tire that will have even the pickiest of inspectors satisfied. A fair warning, even though this is a street tire, it stands well above the stock height. Make sure your golf cart has a lift kit capable of clearing these babies. Don't worry; even though your golf cart needs to have a lift kit at this juncture, a set of these rubbers will still keep it looking sleek.

will these tires fit stock RXV ?
I have an EZGO TXT with a 3" lift.  I would like to get the GTW Specter Chrome Wheel - 12 Inch (12x7) and the DOT Approved Excel Classic Street Tire - 255x50x12.  Will this combo work on my cart?
What size tire do I need to replace my 22x11.00x10 lawnpro excel tires?
Have 215-50-12 on my Yamaha cart now--don't need lift with tires now-what do you think ?

It should say on the web site.
What ever you buy make sure the tires are not banded together. If so send them back at once.

I have a 1977 John Deer 400 "Garden Tractor" that I am modifying for, ahh... "recreational re-purposing" :-) ... The factory rear tire/wheel combo is 26 x 12 x 12... I'm not concerned about the diameter, as lowering of the tractor is one aspect of this project; In your considered [collective?] opinion(s): Will these 255/50-12 Excel Classic DOT Street tires fit "comfortably" on the factory steel wheels...?? (I do realize that 255mm = 10.04")

i have put them on a 2011 ez- go golf cart, and now have 4 tires on a 2016 ez-go golf cart. the 2011 had steel rims, but the 2016 has chrome rims, and they work great on both. hope this answers your question. tony

Are these tires directional?

No they are not directional. However they are taller than my previous off road tire with the same size. My cart is lifted but now even I have to step up higher to get in. My wife doesn’t like it.

Are these wheels alloy?

The 255/50-12 Excel Classic DOT Street Tire is a tire. Put it on any wheel you choose. Great quiet tire.

what is the widest tire for a 7x12 wheel? I have a 32 roadster style golf cart, so the back is open. Have 12x7
godfather Polished Aluminum Wheels.

looks like a 255/50-12 tire will fit your wheels. that is a 10 in wide tire but with most regular golf carts you will need a lift kit to clear the front wheelwells. the tire stands 22 in tall when on the rim. the widest tire with out a lift kit would be a 215/40-12 about a 9 in wide tire

How tall is this tire?

22&1/2 inches tall

I currently have 215/35/14 tires on my EZ-go RXV. I am looking for tires with a smoother ride that will fit. I could go to 12'' wheels If I have to but didnt want to buy new ones. What do you recommend?
