Product Details

The PDS golf cart is one smart cookie. The controller has several multi-pin connectors that send and receive signals all over the cart. If something does not report correctly, the car is not allowed to run. This is one of the safest golf carts on the market because of it. One of the things that receive a lot of power from the controller is the motor. In fact, at full throttle, you get all the voltage that the batteries contain and the amplified amperage from the controller. The controller even monitors the RPM of the motor using an E-Z-GO PDS Speed Sensor. This is a tiny, multi-polled magnet that sends a signal to the controller as the motor spins. If it goes bad, your caddie will more than likely run, but at about three miles per hour.

The golf cart speed sensor is located in the end cap of the motor. A snap ring holds it in place above the magnet. Make sure you replace both items. Call Buggies Unlimited and talk to an expert today.

Great tools !
Very good quality product as advertised. Installed easily with the correct tools that I purchased at the same time. It was reasonably priced also and made installation of speed sensor very easy.

Very pleased with the quality of the part and ease of installation.
I actually had to remove the motor from the golf cart in order to be able to replace the speed sensor. The c-ring holding the sensor in place was a little hard to remove by leaving the motor in place. (You definitely need c-ring pliers to remove the c-ring holding the sensor in place and the one holding the sensor magnet in place). But that also proved to be a good move because the sensor magnet was broke and had to be replaced as well.

I got the right part
But my cart is still not operating as designed.
Cart has little power, batteries are a year old (38.6) volts overall, pulls 1.8 to 2 amps before it drops out then resets immediately, replaced the controller it is 400 amps, and replaced solenoid. I have seen a little improvement with these changes.
Observing a spark when I connect the charger wires to the batteries. Is this normal? As I would think that would be a open circuit.
I need another part 🤨 not sure what.
When I go though carts self diagnose it gives only one beep.

my ezgo txt has only 1 contact coming from my speed sensor to my controller. Can this be adapted or do you have one that works?
Regarding part # 6787. Can just the molex connector and some wire be ordered? I don't need the magnet.
Can I change a speed sensor on a 2008 Ezgo rxv or do I need a new motor?

Yes you can change the speed sensor. It’s not a difficult job.

Does a gas cart have a speed sensor?

I think they are for electric motors only. Look it up, See the description on their application

2000 electric Ezgo golf cart  batteries fully charged starts strong and then it barely want go at all ?

The speed sensor is usually the problem when this happens. One way to tell for sure if your back up buzzer works push the cart if the buzzer beeps the sensor is good and you have other issues
