Product Details

Keeping your batteries charged is the job of several items that work in unison, including the E-Z-GO TXT 48-Volt Charger Receptacle from Buggies Unlimited. This unit is what your charger actually plugs into on the golf cart. Without it, there would be no way to get any voltage from your wall socket into your bank. It is incredible to think how crucial a little piece of plastic with a few wires hanging off it can be.

Over time, your E-Z-GO batteries stop holding the charge as well as they did when they were new. At first, you may not have even noticed that there was an issue. Then you weren't able to go as far and all of a sudden you are dead in the water. This is because as the batteries lose their voltage, the amperage gets higher and higher. As a result, an older unit that has a lower starting point will generate more heat.

Anything that is wired to these babies is going to be susceptible to the rising temperatures. One of the first times that comes to mind is this golf cart charger receptacle. As a matter of fact, it is wired to the entire pack. Thus, if even one battery in the series has an issue, so is your E-Z-GO receptacle.

The best way to keep your batteries in good condition is to keep them fully charged. The moment that you start to let them slip is the beginning of their downfall. Who the heck buys a carriage and allows it to stay on the charger its whole life? You are going to wind up plugging and unplugging this monster quite a bit over its life. This action alone is enough to wear things out. If you notice any play or slop, give your friendly experts here at Buggies Unlimited a call for a new E-Z-GO TXT 48-Volt Charger Receptacle.

Is it possible on a Ex Go 48 volt cart to just change the fuse link wire going to the positive post? or must I replace the entire receptacle? I have two chargers (One brand new) neither will charge, The Battery's are new. If I manually charge each batter it works great. I've been told I must replace the whole receptacle.

I reccomend installing a new receiver with the new harness. It is easy to remove the old one, a couple of small bolts and disconnect the wires in the harness. Then just reverse the process. Install the new receiver and reconnect the harness to the correct wires. I also give the receiver a.shot of WD40 every month to assure there is good contact with the charger plug.

ezgo txt 48 volt - charger checked out as ok but batteries not charging - small light on receptacle not illuminated or flashing as it used to. Do

i need a new recptacle ?

more than likely the total battery voltage has drop low enough that the charger does not recognize the system.
you need to indiviually charge each battery with a car battery charger to get total voltage above 44 volt for your charger to recognize your battery pack.

what are the 2 little wires inside 1 wire from receptacle to battery for ( small black and red )? broke at post and i striped them and put on new connector . the cart would do nothing. took them completly loose and cart runs fine but im sure it will not charge right ,

those wire are for the controller to shut of when charging and also they turn on the charger they go to a black block in it there is a diode / resistor you will need a new charger port wire assy. cart shouldnt run unless some one jumped the blue wire at charger port
