Product Details

Getting your golf cart around the corner can be a thing that you don't think about. Every time you have tried before, there has been no issue. When something gives up in that assembly, it can be pretty nerve-wracking. Think about approaching a corner and turning the wheel only to continue in the same direction. Let's hope your brakes are in actually good condition if that happens. You don't want to be the person of the week in the local tribune because you parked your caddie in a water trap. If parts like the E-Z-GO Steering Rod Assembly without Rack shear, you are up the creek without a paddle as far as turning is concerned.

If you have noticed that you have play in your steering, it's time to make a list. Get up under there with a pen and pad of paper and find out everything you need. Once you do, just call Buggies Unlimited and place an order for this steering rod and whatever else you need.

Missing Nut
This steering rod assembly fit perfectly and works as intended. The only item missing was the nut on the end but I don't see that being an issue. Other than that, be prepared to possibly realign your steering wheel. Mine was centered before hand but now I have to adjust the front two tie rod ends. Luckily I am replacing those as well and did this one first.

Great part and price
Installed on my 1990 EZGO 3 wheeler where this part wasn't listed as being available separately. Replacing just the steering rod was much easier than taking apart the whole steering box. Old part was a pain to remove but this new part went one without issue. Steering is much tighter and safer now.

Is the ball joint very stiff or does it move fairly easy in the socket? I have one but is very hard to move.

The ball should have a fair amount of resistance in the socket. This should get slightly better after joint is greased but still should be tight. If the ball "flops" around in the socket or has any up down or side to side "slop" the part is in need of a replacement. If the one you have is "very hard to move", as long as there isn't any grit feeling as you move it, I would not be scared to run with it.

is it left handed thread?

I don't rember but it went back together easy and it was the right part and is working well

Where is this part supposed to be?  I would assume it comes off the Pitman to the passenger spindle on the pitman end of the link?  Mine had simple ball joints without that  big knuckle.  Is that knuckle some sort of inline shock absorber?

At the end of the steering column you have what I would call hafe of a steering rack it attaches to that up high witch turns a shaft that is hooked to the tie rods
