This item is a component of the driven clutch. There are three of them internally that prevent metal on metal wear and noise. When these little guys go faulty, you can tell quickly. The noise generated is like that of a youngin who got a hold of the pots and pans. You are not going to be able to tolerate it long, which is by design. The longer you let it go, the more damage it does to the clutch itself.
