1981-Up EZGO - Key Plate Plastic Rivet

There is a story here. Anytime someone had to remove the key switch plate, you know something good must have caused it. The reason is that the rivets that the factory installs have to be drilled out to pull that plate off. So what was it? We have heard nearly all of the excuses, from my kid lost it, all the way down to our favorite explanation of "the golf cart was not running, so we started bypassing switches to see if something was bad."
