When you are thinking about tuning up your golf cart, don't forget the Yamaha Air-Filter for Models G8, G9, and G11. Before we go any further, let's talk about what this is. There is some confusion as to why your air filter would have oil in it. We have had customers tell us that they thought they didn't have to put oil in their carts because of it. This is not the case, and the list of parts they needed was quite extensive after that maneuver. The Yamaha air filter is impregnated with oil, and this serves as a sticky trap. Anything that might get sucked into the intake has a higher chance of getting trapped than with a standard paper filter.
This golf cart air filter is only for use on early Yamaha models. Do not try to use this on any other model than a G8, G9, and G11. Trying to use an oil-impregnated filter on a cart that does not take one can choke the airflow down too much and prevent it from running. Call Buggies Unlimited today and get what you need on order.
MY CART IS A 1988 YAMAHA G2 GAS AND IT USES P/N# 2123. THE FILTER IS 4 3/16" DIA.X 5 5/8" LONG WITH A 1.295" INSIDE DIA. ON THE O-RING ( TOP END) +/_ .005". IT FITS MY G2 PERFECT. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE MODELS G8, G9, OR G11! HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!
