Product Details

I think we all like to see the way things work. At the very least, viewing how an item functions will help us better understand its purpose. If there is a better example than the 48-Volt High-Amp Solenoid, you would be hard-pressed to find it. Not only is it educational, but it's also one of the most solemn duty aftermarket solenoids available at Buggies Unlimited.

This solenoid looks a lot different, but it works the same as any other relay. Simply put, this is just a heavy-duty switch that joins power to its destination. This contactor has open sides that allow you to view the posts' closing internally as it energizes. Your Club Car, EZGO, or Yamaha are in good hands. This unit will go the distance and then some. It's a good thing too. The 48-Volt High-Amp Solenoid is the most used part on your golf cart. Shop with Buggies Unlimited and make sure the product you buy will stand up to the rigors you put it through.

More companies should model Buggies Unl. with tech support and customer service
Our carry all lost forward/reverse. Called buggies unlimited tech center, determined we had a faulty solenoid, provided info to customer service and quickly received new part, installed and tested-corrected issue.

Heavy duty solenoid for use with upgraded motor/controller.
Heavy duty high amp solenoid for upgraded motors and controllers. These things are huge compared to the stock solenoids in any cart. So far so good with mine using a Navitas motor and controller.

What's the difference between a regular club car solenoid and the high amp?
I am upgrading my 48 volt ezgo to a 500 amp alltrax controller and I will also need diode and resistor. I see the diode but it doesn't have spade connections is this the correct diode for the application?
recently installed a 600a controller on my ezgo48txt cart. Do i need to change out the stock solenoid?

My cart over heated and would start stuttering with the old stock one so I swapped to this and the problem was gone. I think it’s s good idea to change if your old one failed could put the cart full throttle.

The solenoid I’m replacing has a “+” terminal mark for the battery connection. Does this solenoid have that polarity wiring terminal?

Jim, I don’t remember and the cart is gone so I can’t check. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Will this 48 volt high amp solenoid work with a Navitas 600A?

Yes, , but be prepared to modify your current solenoid location as this one is larger and has different mounting points.

Will this work on a 1998 club car DS with 400 amp Alltrax controller with mounting in stock location? Also would I need different diode/resistor, recommendations?

Came with my upgrade kit fit just fine do not know about diode

Does this solenoid come with the diode and resistor or is that separate?

Hi Joel. If your cart is a Direct Current (DC) type then YES you need the filters on the solenoid. If your cart is AC powered you do NOT.

My cart has a Curtis SW80B-156. Is this item (SW180) a replacement?

Yes it will work. You may have to replace your coil connection terminals, but that will be simple to do.

I have a 48V 105Ah Lithium Golf Cart Battery, Built-in Smart 200A BMS on a club car with high speed motor. What is proper size solenoid for this setup?

This item would work as this is our 48v solenoid.

Will this work for my 48 volt star golf cart ?

It says it's "universal fit" so probably, it'll work fine. I can confirm it works great on my Club Car DS 48 volt.
