The E-Z-GO Key Switch is a part of a multi-step activation circuit that gets the power needed up to the solenoid to click it in. The key switch would seem like it would be the first step in the process, but it's not. The power for this circuit comes in from the charging plug and routes directly to a microswitch on the forward and reverse assembly. Once you have shifted into gear, the power flows up to the key switch, and if it's on, it will allow it to travel through the pedal switch back to the solenoid. If any of these switches go bad, the cart will not run at all. This is a spade-style golf cart key switch. Make sure that you have the same setup on your golf cart. Some key buttons use a Phillips head screw to hold an eyelet terminal. The spade style is more common and easier to work with. Call Buggies Unlimited now and get one on its way.
